This piece is part of a whole collection of decors from the late 1880s to early 1890s made by spreading glass of one color into another (pink into yellow/orange in this case). All of the pieces I have found in this color combination have a variation of the same enameled floral decoration - clusters of tiny blue and white flowers and gold decoration near the rim. Though the PN for this one has not been published, a vessel in this shape appears to have been on display at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 (see last two photos). I have photos of other shapes in this decoration; if anyone else has one, please let me know - I would love to add examples to my photo library.

Beautiful vases. Perhaps this decoration also includes this vase:

      Dear Warren,
a very interesting contribution onto the early Loetz production, especially the link to the foto of the Chicago Exhibition is a excellent observation. Another vase of same décor could be seen in my article on 'Early Loetz' as fig.51.03.

Kai, I noticed that one- I have a copy of that image in my folder also. It is also on a confirmed PN I-1808.

Glad to see it is identified in the 1893 Worlds Fair photo as proof positive Loetz.
