This is a nice tintype photo of a ladies arm holding a pretty baby.
The frame has information around the outer rim as follows"
Patented Dec 24 1861
Worcester Mass. No. 41
Dean & Emerson Patent Applied For
Nice "hidden mother" image!
What is the mystery?

Hello Scott
The only mystery on this one was the identification of the child. The frame is great at telling it's story. Would it be impossible to identify a baby in an old photo? I'm not joking, I would not know.
Without family history or provenance or some sort of identification on the image itself, it is impossible to identify.
The mat information simply identifies the maker of the mat. These were sold and used by many photographers in many locations.
I and most antique image collectors/ dealers, steer clear of "looks like" identifications as they are unreliable and speculative.
Searches of online auction sites will show many sellers of "look like" images of the famous. Rarely do they command much interest or value.

Thanks- that's what I was thinking but I didn't know for sure. It's hard to pick out my own family's baby pictures.
Glad to help out.
Here is a posting that I did on "looks like" images that may be of interest:
