This was how the Sky looked for 12 days because of the "Camp Fire" in Paradise, California, 150miles North of us, in the San Francisco, Bay Area. The Fire started on 11/8/18.
The Fire in Paradise, was the deadliest in California's History, with over 83 Lives lost, 153,336 acres burned, 13,906 residences, 514 commercial and 4,232 other buildings destroyed, including my Nephew's, Father's, Home, that my Nephew, and his Wife lived with, but they're all safe!
The 1st picture is on 11/11/18, next is on 11/16, then 11/19, and last on the Morning of 11/21/18, when the rains finally came, and started to clear are Air again. At the worst, the Air quality in our area was over 500ppm, and we were warned not to go outside, without wearing an N95 dust mask, which I did the last few days, but mostly stayed inside.
Clearer Air here, for Thanksgiving, and wishing a Happy One to All! :^)
Thank you for looking, all comments welcome!
Yes it is very scary. None of the fires were close this time luckily.
Words can't fully describe this. You have my sincere prayers and wishes for recovery from this tragedy. The media trys to paint us as a divided country that hates each other because of demographics, politics, agenda. That may very true for some, but not for the majority. I truly hurt for my fellow Americans whenever something like this happens, wherever they live. We received well wishes and love from the citizens of the west when we had the recent hurricanes. Believe me we of the southeast are saddened by this now. It really hurts, not only the homes and people lost, but I remember how beautiful California was when I visited. Now so much of this I saw is destroyed! Words aren't enough I realize, but this SO sad.
Bill thank God you and your family are safe, that's all that matters. We are all grieving about the fires in your beautiful state, it is still shocking that they became so widespread, and hopefully it will never be allowed to happen again & you can live danger free. My thoughts & prayers are with you, luv Jenni
First I want to thank everyone for your concern, and well wishes. Last year my sister lost her home, along with many other people, in the Santa Rosa, California Fire, and other fires that burned in our State, and again this year was worse, but California is not burned up! Our State is 163,700,000 million square miles, and the total area burned in 2017, and 2018 is around 4,481 square miles. California is still a beautiful green forested State, that also produces a lot of the food for the rest of the United States, and the World. Most of the Fires that have burned in California, are in National Forest Areas, that are Managed by the Federal Department of the Interior, not just California. So everyone can use help, and well wishes, but California is alive, and well, and big enough for all visitors, that would love to see our Beautiful State, of Mountains, Rivers, Lakes, Forests, Farmlands, The Delta, Deserts, Ocean Beaches, and Cliffs, Wildlife, Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Swimming, not to forget our Beautiful Cities, and People, that are some of the nicest, and most generous, in the World! Yes I love California, and would love everyone else to love it too! :^D
OK! :^D Yes all the smoke was scary, Brian, and got here so quickly, that most people thought it was just Fog, not just smoke. I'm glad to hear that you weren't bothered by it! Thanks for your comment, and your love too! :^)
Toyrebel, thank you so much for your concern, and Prayers, and as a Country, we are One! Thanks for the love that you gave! :^)
Thank you Jenni, it's hard to say that our Family was lucky, but surely we are Thankful that we are all safe, and alive! The Fires, were kind of a Perfect Storm, that we seldom see in Northern California, they're more in Southern California, and the Santa Anna Winds, that create the right conditions for Fire Storms, Hot, Dry, and Windy!
Thank you both, Kevin, and of course Jenni, for the Love! :^)
Thanks Thomas, your thoughts, are always welcome, and your love is appreciated! :^)
Hey Bill how have you been did you ever make another knife case it certainly has been a bad year for fires here in northern California the woods are loaded with dead and dying trees due to the beetle the loggers cut them down as soon as they see them the government which ever branch ran by a bunch of idiots don't do a damn thing
Hi Bill, we're doing good, but no, I never had another Knife Case made up, but if I ever get out to sell some of my Knives, I will definitely get, or make more of them! :^D Thanks for your comment, and that is about the way I feel about it too!
Thank you much for the love too, I see that CW fixed the trouble that you were having, adding a love! :^)
Oh, @ #5 that's 163.7 million square miles, after I wrote that I switched the number, and didn't remove the million. 163,700,oo0 shows better at how big California is, when compared to 4,481 sq. miles burned! :^)
Glad you are doing good and CW fixed the love thing still cannot follow anyone which sucks and cannot categorize things this site is not as good as it use to be
Hello Judy, thank you for the love that you gave! :^)
Bill happy nothing bad happened to you and your family. Keep on rockin!
Thank you Rich, my Sister, and Brother-in-law were able to bring their trailer up from Texas, on Thanksgiving, to let my Nephew and his Father use until they're able to find some place to rent. Not much available in the area now, with so much Destroyed!
Thanks for the love that you gave,
Watchsearcher, aura, and Rich, much appreciated! :^)
