This bank is made of solid Bronze with a high copper content and can scratch easily. It is NOT bronze clad or brass. The screws are also bronze and much softer than brass. The inside is full of thousands of scratches from many years of holding coins. It is 6 1/2 " high x 5" wide and 4" deep and weighs over 6 lbs. It has an Art Deco look having many sharp angles. Even the eye brows and dimples are triangles. There is an A on the lower left outside rear of the figure. The inside is marked USA MA. 3 and what looks like it might say Plymouth but the T is too close for a U to have been there. It looks like, P YMOT But it is so worn from coins, its only a guess. I would really like to know about this bank so if any of you pro collectors can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Through research, I have found that they made bank PATTERNS out of bronze. It may be possible that's what this is but I'm hoping one of you experts might be able to help me. Please?
