    Scales
    American Scale Mfc Co
1 cent for weight or 5 cents for horoscope and weight.

After a one day round trip to my brothers house , we made it home safely with some of his personal items.
I also got back some gifts I had given to him...alabaster eagle lamps and a fox hunt oil painting. He always would say " what have you dug up in those second hand shops lately"
He adored those eagle lamps and fox hunt painting which came from second hand shops. He spent $300.00 to have the painting framed and hung it in his dining room.
He put a lot of work into this scale
to make it look this good and work...
    I will cherish.

My uncle and aunt were blind. He had several similar scales in his storage shed. Evidently their was some affiliation with handicapped organizations that obtained the scales. He would move them around to different locations. Brings back memories.

I remember these being around town when I was a child. It was fun for us kids but we had to first talk our mother out of a nickle. She didn't hand them out willingly.

Ah Yes, One outside of every 5 and dime in town, when there were 5 and dimes. Those were the good ole days, unlike today! IMO
