Hello, This plier is unmarked, seems to be well made. Overall length is 8-3/4". The opening for what I will describe as a half ball, is 5/16" , when handles are squeezed together. Thanks in advance, Lou

I would say it is an early version of Triclick pliers. They were used to install plastic rivets in auto and boat trim. You would hold the nipple end of the rivet and push it into place until it locked, then squeeze the pliers to snip off the nipple so only the plastic dome showed. The link I post below is screw in type plastic rivets but they will give you an idea of what I am talking about. Plastic rivets come in all different designs depending on the type vehicle.

A couple questions for you: 1.) in pic #2, is the shaft smooth all the way? 2.) also in pic#2, what is the O.D. size of the shaft?

Hello, Guys. Thanks for the replies, I will check the link. I am not sure about your question regarding the shaft? Do you mean the handles? The piece in the center is a flat spring. I will post a photo from another angle. Regards, lou

I can see from your new photo that my guess was not so good now. I will look again later.
