advertising tins from the kitchen shelf (#6)

This little guy (~3-1/4"tall x 1-1/2" across) is likely the actual 'oldest' of the tins on my shelf, as well as being the smallest. I can't say I know exactly how old, but can say that I know where I got this one anyway -- from my Mom's kitchen, when I was a teenager. (who at the time was in need of a cool little container to, shall we say, "stash" something in...??) <lol> I would further speculate that she in fact 'inherited' it from a then elderly Aunt's (or etc.) kitchen as, to be frank, chili powder wasn't then and still isn't an ingredient that Mom ever tended to actually *use* for much of anything (unlike myself, nowadays) even when she actually made chili...? <groan>

I'll guess its ~1940's vintage, just by its look/label decoration and the way it is made with its embossed screw on top. On its back is a "RECIPE FOR MAKING EXCELLENT CHILI CON CARNE" and its front features a way-fun 'red devil stirring a cauldron over a fire' logo. (which for the record no longer appears on bottles of Mexene Chili Powder, unlike my Mom I always have a 'new' bottle in my spice cabinet and use it frequently...) ;-) :-)
