From the "stuff that used to do its job really well, until somebody else decided they thought it was deadly TOXIC instead" department... <sigh><groan>

ENERGINE Spot Remover (cleaning fluid) apparently came in (at least) two differing chemical formulations when it *was* available to the general public -- one flammable and the other not, consisting of largely either trichloroethane (the earlier and non-flammable, but maybe also more inherently hazardous thus first 'banned'?) or naptha. (keep away from sparks and flame, or BOOM?!!) This can, measuring about 5-1/4" tall with its spout/lid and 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" on its sides must have held the later 'naptha' version, being plainly marked as flammable even without any identification of its actual 'chemical content'.

This (now basically empty but for vapors) can was saved from the trash last year when I was helping Mom and Dad downsize their home. Knowing/remembering that Mom actually *used* ENERGINE every so often for cleaning up things/messes (which I or my little sisters might have 1st created...it WAS really useful to remove stuff like ink stains, for example?) I have to guess it is thus one of (or the) later versions of the can design, maybe dating from the late 1970's or otherwise sometime shortly before whenever ENERGINE was 'removed from the market', I don't know exactly when that was.
