    My friend found this in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and I was wondering if anyone can identify it or point me in the direction of someone who can. I posted photos of the back of the button but as you can see the mineral deposits cover the entire surface.

      I posted a 1700's British military button I found here on SXM on CW awhile back. Using the markings on the back made it an easy search. Bon chance

      This may be X (10th regiment) Scottish. Are the button makers marks legible on the back ?

      unfortunately, you can't see much on the back (just posted some pics) because of the mineral deposits.
