Canvas Trunk Restoration

I do like trunks that refinished in natural wood. But every now and then, I like to get a little bit creative and change everything. This trunk was covered in metal sheeting that had pretty much rotted and rusted away. I started with recovering in canvas duck, and then thought that the brown leather would be a nice contrast, for the binding. I must have been browsing through some old military books because the redesign ended up looking like a revolutionary war uniform. Red against blue can work well, in the right context.
