This is a "Victor Talking Machine Co." Type Vtc V, Serial #33527. It has a "Jambo Jim " dancing man that attaches to the record spindle. Very hard to find the Oak Horned phonographs, let alone one with the matching quarter sawn oak bookmatched cabinet.

What a beauty ! The "wood-lice" finally got mine, but it never would have compared with this ! Is this a pro refinish job or did you do it ? A winner, either way.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS phonograph and cabinet!! <applause> [and JamboJim is "interesting" too kinda...but I think I'd wanna be rather careful about displaying something like that, these days...?? <eeek><lol>]

Bluderbuss2, sorry about the wood-lice, hope you found a treatment. It was restored in the mid 1970's by a Master Craftsman. Thanks for your kind comments.

Anything Obscure, thanks for the compliments. As for Jambo Jim, I consider him part of history (maybe not our best history) and part of my reason for collecting. I don't feel he should be hidden away but out where he might inspire conversation and let us know how far we have come.

fortapatche, Thanks. The RCA dog is special because my great great uncle carved the original, I would love to find a full size one that used to displayed in the stores but for now I will settle for my small chalk one.

Nice item, wha'st the story on the lamp next to it?

ttomtucker, the bronze candlelabra is one of a pair, by French Artist Ernest Rancoulet (1870-1915). This one is a young boy with wings carrying a bow with a quiver of arrows on his back. Titled "La Noir Lout Repose". ( I need a translation) The mate to is a young girl also with wings, bow and quiver. her title is something like "Retour Au Pritemp" , its very hard to make out. I picked these up a year or two ago at a local auction. Thanks for the interest.
