Finished the restore on this #493 School Bus. It was cataloged from '61-'65. It came with rubber tires the first 2 years. I got a good deal on it , a partial Toosie horse trailer and Tootsie pumper.
I had touble finding a Hubley yellow color in the can for a road scraper I'm restoring. Nothing was really close and I got Home Depot to make me a yellow to match. The minimum you can get is a quart. I got their best oil base and it cost $33!! I can easily paint 500 toys or a real vehicle yellow. This is the first time I used my new gravity feed air brush with oil base. It passed with flying (yellow) colors. I had already painted a boat trailer with it with acrylic. I'll never use a crappy siphon feed airbrush again, siphons suck. I will obey the law of gravity feed from now on.
As usual you did a beautiful job. Sadly I do not need anything painted yellow right now. Anyway it is a cool school bus.
Thanks Apache, well if you finally get something that needs a yellow paint job you know who to call.
