This Phänomen Genre decor is unidentified for the moment, but a piece in the same color and decor is shown in Neuwirth, Loetz 1900, as having been a gift of Max von Spaun to the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna. The ground color is a pale pink opal, with a gold amber iridescence and applied silver/yellow threads pulled into flame shapes four times around the body. It has similarities with the Formosa decor, but it is much more deliberate and controlled, and the ground color and iridescence are different - deeper and richer than a typical Formosa. There is a similar shape in Series I (7614), but this piece probably dates later - ca. 1902. It is about 8" tall - properly signed within the polished pontil, "Loetz Austria"
