Hello, I got this "1943 Steel War Penny" the other day and i've been looking at images of it online and I can see that a few of them are worth a pretty amount. So I was just wondering if anyone on this site knows anything about it I would like the history behind it and if I actually got something that's worth something. Thank you in advance.
I can't see the mint mark. Should be an S, D or nothing under the date. Nothing is also called a P and stands for Philadelphia. Don't recall any of these being worth huge sums of money but yours is in very nice condition.
Hello,Fortapache the coin I have does not have anything under the date and it weighs right .do you know where I can go have it checked out. Or where are you located at .
As fort stated, these aren't big ticket items when they are circulated (most top out at a couple of dollars).
Take a look at ebay sold items to get an idea.
To command big money they have to be uncirculated and then graded.
