When I first laid eyes on this unusual Louis Vuitton trunk, I knew that I wanted to work on it. In obvious need of some restorative TLC, the first thing that bothered me was the condition of the all leather exterior. I tried various leather conditioners before I hit on the right one which really soaked in and softened the finish. Cleaning all of those LV nailheads is never a fun project but realizing that they were all copper, was something I had never seen. The really interesting design of this trunk is the fact that it opens from the front and is really a holder for two sliding trays (I guess they could be called drawers, right?). Check out the last pic and you can see what it looked like before I got my paws on it.
Personally, I love what you are doing with these trunks! Of course when I read your bio then your posts, I just had to pick out another one that's probably worth more than the gray one! Figures...lol. So are you telling me here that you found something to bring that leather back to what it looks like now? Or you changed out the leather? Love that unique bar trunk too. You definitely found yourself a nice little niche! How awesome is that?!? Very nice work!!!
