    I can't find any info on this 726A model. This was apparently used by previous owners. Why is there a one inch hole in back of firebox? It looks like it should be there!

      The hole is probably to let air into firebox so combustion can occur.

      I never saw this model stove before but have seen plenty of them and grew up with them up in New England. Cook stoves had a port/opening on the back side where there would be a hot water heater mounted. They had cold inlet then that was connected to another tank with a hot outlet going to a storage tank. I suspect your stove was originally equipped to heat water as needed.

      You can make that happen I'm curious if anybody figure it out what year this might have been made. I have one in pretty good condition.
