I inherited this banjo from my grandfather. I know nothing about it. My grandfather was born in 1921. Can anyone tell me who made it? I can’t find any bakers mark on the banjo.

Did You unscrew the back and look inside??
    2. Medinaohiojim, 6 years ago
I just unscrewed the back, and took it off. No labels under the back. There is also no sign of ghost labels that were once present.

Thomas is right about many being home made. I've made 2 & don't think I marked either. I associate the 4 string more with European, as a large % of those made on this side of "The Pond" are 5 string.

It has "GROVER" on the bridge & that was a quick search. Look for yourself.
    5. Medinaohiojim, 6 years ago
The original bridge was missing. I had it replaced with the Grover that you see.
