Does anyone know anything about this red glass insulator. I think it's an insulator anyway, but it has no threads on the inside. I know that some don't but I'm not so sure it is an insulator. It is small, 2.75" tall by 2" in diameter at the base. I haven't found one that looks like this.

Maybe a boat light lens?? Just my opinion.

I would agree that this item is more likely the lens for some kind of indicator/warning light fixture. Are there any markings/lettering on it, perhaps around its base?

It is a signal tower or beacon warning light. Give me a minute or two and I will post a link.

This is a more modern version but shows the use for aircraft. They are also used for boats and trains. Older ones can be worth a few hundred in good shape.
