Hi this is a 18kt gold franch propelling pencil,it was seiesed shut ,so my local jewler got it open, its a facinating little object,i has two eagels heads stamped on the loop attached to the pencil.I also think it has markins on the outher side of the loop but look more like scratches and possibly a triangle with e&co or f&co but i might be totaly wrong and just making letters out of scratches, the inner part measures 36mm and the outer gold sleve is 32mm ,could any one tell me a bit more about it. i woud love to know the maker and value if possible,i have searched the internet and cannot find one the same, any help much appreaciated.
Hi,yes the insides are intact, and there was a small amount of pencil in the end,it is fully out,the pin that stops it is at the end,all that I can see is a thread on the end,the jeweller has squashed the top slightly when he's pulled it out resulting in two sml cracks on one side of the top. would it of been stamped with the two eagles heads if it was gold plated?
Thanks for that ar8 jason,do you have any ideas on the maker and possible value, and where to sell, thankyou.
