    I collect old saws and just found this one recently .... Its a 1931 Black & Decker 8" portable saw .
    It cost $135 dollars in 1931

      That was expensive for its time. These type saws were the top of the line compared to the common direct drive circular saws. These had far more torque due to the gearing.
