This is an update of a previous post because I now have two of the signal heads from the same corner in Hoboken (Washington St. & 5th St.). These are Marbelite signals from the late 1940s that were taken off the street in early 2018. These were originally part of the 4-way "cluster" that you see in the photo I posted. They are in great shape, with all of the glass and essential parts intact. Yet they also look nicely weathered and a little "beat up", which is cool. Whenever I get a signal, there are factors I weigh in consideration of whether to refinish. These are staying in off-the-street condition.
This "find" was a gift, by the way. There was an even older 4-way light made by Horni Signal Mfg Co that was removed from Washington & 1st Streets, and we put that one in the Hoboken Historical Museum (link below). This signal, along with some other retired Hoboken items, was a gift to us from the museum folks.
