I know nothing at all about this item except that I've had it for 30+yrs, having found it back then someplace I also don't remember. ;-) Assuming it probably first held ladies' face powder and a small mirror, etc. etc. yada yada. Not repolished for pics here, but I do recall it shines up nicely... ;-) :-)
It is about 3" across, with a floralish design tooled onto most of its cover and the center of its backside. The word "SILVER" is stamped into the inside of its bottom and number "4" stamped inside its lid, no other markings I've found. It does have a few minor dings/dents, also one end of the hinge between top and bottom is now slightly deranged, missing its 'sleeve part' which would have first held that end of its 'hinge pin'.
If anybody recognizes anything about it, I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts?!!! :-) :-) :-)
THANKS MUCH to Vynil33rpm, yougottahavestuff, Watchsearcher, fortapache, Brunswick, officialfuel, blunderbuss2, & jscott0363 for your <love it>s!!
Nobody has any clues (guesses even?!) for me about this item?? I was hoping *somebody* (maybe some of our jewelry collectors?) would recognize *something* about it, or its decoration pattern, or ??
More THANKS to worthit2 & aura!! :-) :-) :-)
Beautiful!
