I recently picked this piece up at an auction. It was just listed as “MALACHITE & AMBER FIGURAL PENDANT ON SILVER CHAIN”. The “H” figure on the reverse appears to be a type of loop to attach to something. There are no hallmarks except on the clasp reading “.925”
I found a separate auction listing for the necklace from last year at an auction house in California. There were only four Latin American items sold that day, they included a couple of paintings by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. This leads me to believe the necklace possibly may have been from the same estate. Im just trying to learn more about this piece. I was hoping you wouldn’t mind taking a look at it, or perhaps you could point me in the right direction.
Thank you for your time.
Size: PENDANT IS 3 1/4" LONG--CHAIN IS 26" LONG FROM CLASP TO CLASP.
Awesome pendant, no expert but it looks like a Mayan warrior chief; the 925 on the clasp means sterling silver. Great find!
