The actual car is a famous car the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. It is famous for its high mileage. Eventually it had 400,000 miles and at one point drove non-stop for 400 miles which is a lot for way back when. Says that on the back of the box as seen in the last photo. Apparently the name refers to both a single car and a model line. This model is based on the single car.
Matchbox made this car for a long time starting in 1960 and made it until 1969. That is one of the longest runs for any Matchbox model. Box information on the Yesteryears is difficult to find but I think my just by guessing method will work fine. In 1968 these were in window boxes. I am going with 1967 for this one. Earlier boxes have more simple artwork on the end flaps.
Many exciting items to post this week so stay tuned!
