Great Car!!! My friend had a white one like that back in 72!! We were deer hunting on the Cape and I got an 8 point buck!! We gutted him, and tied him to the trunk to take it to the weigh station, we got a lot of thumbs up but a lot more evil stares and gestures. Dressedout a 182 lbs.
Nothing better than Saratoga in August during racing season, a beautiful memory - nice ride too!
@yougottahavestuff...my apologies! I meant to write "an interesting story"!!!! Sometimes spell check does that....I am embarrassed by, and apologetic for this error.
I did, as I am sure many others have, found the deer hunting story to be a really fine recollection!!!!
Thanks, stuff! That is an interesting story that you relate!!!!
Hi, yougottahavestuff i have amended my original comment, and have deleted your comments that reflected the misunderstanding in my original response.
Things should be all right now, thank you for your understanding....
My first car was a used 63 Newport, and it was great fun, too! A real "boat" with a lot of room and power. Ya don't see vehicles like those made anymore!!!!
My first car was a 52 Desoto I was 15 the guys and I set out to rebuild the engine!! We worked on it the whole summer!!
Ray took the 4 barrel carb. home to clean Sheldon's father redid the pistons etc.
Labor of Love. My girlfriend Kathy broke up with me cause I spent so much time on it!! So I painted a clowns head on the fenders and named it Kathy's Clown "FOOL DEJECTED" Asked Ray for the Carb!!! He had taken it completely apart and but it in a bucket of gasoline. Neeless to say we never got it running!!! Dad said get it out of backyard!!! Sold it for 25 bucks!!!
Love Saratoga Water in the cobalt blue bottle.
Tony
Another great MOPAR!
Hi, Tony...that is another interesting story re: your first car! These are the things that we never forget. Thank you for sharing it with us!
And, that Saratoga water does taste great! The blue bottles are really attractive, too. I think that drinking glasses featuring the Saratoga logo on the blue background are available.
I visited their company once while I was in Saratoga Springs....it was a clean, friendly and efficient plant!
Hi, Jenni...I agree with you 100% re: your comment! Thank you!!!!
Yes, Iggy...that is true! MOPAR always was my favorite manufacturer. I still like the Dodoge and Chrysler brands, but MOPAR certainly is not what it used to be!!!!
Hi, Toyrebel, fortapache, 'buss, Vinyl33rpm, and v-50...I appreciate your loves of these images....
That is indeed a great car. Glad someone took the time and money to restore it.
Thank you, fortapache,,,I share your feeling re: this vehicle also! It is a true beauty!!!
Hi, Thomas...that would make it a very good year then!!!!
I appreciate all of your loves on these 2 images!!!!!
Like riding a cloud.... Always liked the look of them .. nice pictures..
Thanks, roycroftbooks....they did ride like dream. Perhaps it was the torsion bar suspension that accomplished this?
My first car was a 63 Chrysler Newport...which was a great car in all respects. It had the torsion bar suspension, which i feel was an automotive engineering marvel!
