I've posted some of Col. Swafford's items before, he was a Lt. Col in the army for 30 years and collected a lot of stuff from different countries. The colonel was a specialist in artillery for most of his career. Here's an artilleryman he evidently recieved when he was at Ft. Sill in 1952. I lived in Duncan, Ok. around 1960, about 30 miles from Ft. Sill/Lawton. My cousin was stationed there right before he was going to get out. I think BB II said his son was stationed there. I don't know anything sbout the figurine, it's about 6 1/2" tall.
I'm fine Thomas, thanks for asking. The major damage was localized in the downtown Wetumpka area around the bridge. So far, knock on wood, only one minor injury has been reported. Considering the intensity, that's a miracle. It leveled the oldest church and did considerable damage. I have relatives there, but they live closer to Montgomery where there was little to no damage. A friend of mine at Titus, on the other side of Wetumpka, recieved only minor wind shear damage. You can replace buildings, not lives. I hope the one minor injury is all. Thanks again.
