Here's an iconic Art Deco bookend designed by Abraham Abbot Schy during the 1930's for Ray Dodge in CA. The bottom is marked with "A. Abbot Schy." He may have been a WPA artist at the time. The bookend shows classic Art Deco motifs, especially the zig zag lines. The metal is spelter or white metal. I have it displayed in my fireplace alcove, next to a Fulper pottery vase (circa 1920's-1930's) and a circular copper deco salvage item. Wish I had a pair of them!
I hope you do find the other one, on offer for a pittance. The zigzags are a nice contrast with the curves.
She has a wonderful profile.
Lovely piece of Deco. Great lines.
