I found this in a old house. It had that old flooring in it and I was replacing it. This was in a envelope with Two other bills a 1920 $20.00 bill I sold it. And a 1935 $5.00 bill Red Ink certificate still got it that was back in 1980. The people that lived there before me knew nothing about it and they had lived there 45 years cool uh. I've never had it looked at before. It says at top (Gold Certificate of Deposit). 100 dollars No. 1496. Issue of 1895- Act No. 19. On the back it says Hawaiian Treasure Certificate of DEPOSIT.

Fantastic find and looks to be in great shape!
There are museums in Honolulu which might love to display it.
Iolani Palace, residence of last Hawaiian queen, Liliuokalani, might be able to help you find a value--certainly more than face value!

I have the identical certificate same serial number and signed just like yours. I also found it in a similar fashion. I found mine in a old home I purchased and it was in an envelope with a $1 1895 education note and a $2 1928 horse blanket. I would love to find out where these came from as I've been researching this for years.
