Here's another Flea Market find from last Saturday 1/12/2019, that I would like to find out about. It's a 1932 Comic Art Portrait of a Mustached Man in a coat and tie, with long wiry hair on his head sticking up, it's signed on the bottom Haworth '32. The Portrait is in an early frame, maybe from the 19teens-20's. I don't know if it's a famous Person, or just a funny one! The painting looks to be Airbrushed, or Silkscreened, or a combination, but there are no Pixels, so not a print. The frame is great, and the Portrait is cool, but I don't want to separate them if it's a known Artist/Artwork!
All comments are welcome, and any information is appreciated! :^D
Thank you for Looking! :^)
Thanks for all your help, Newfld(Jenni), thuthordare, and mp.kunst, for your thoughts, and Links, I can mark this Einstein Portrait, by Haworth, Solved! :^)
Nice caricature but 1932 is a long time ago, sort of has an Einstein look - good find Bill
I think it's a caricature of a man that was well known during that time period. It looks really special to me, the art work is fabulous and I do believe it's an original. Would be fun to see what Barneby's experts have to say, if we can't figure it out ourselves for free.
Here is another one about Jean Harlow.

Albert Einstein in 1931 - after he discovered the theory of relativity and received a Nobel Prize.
@mpkunst
I think it is, the letters are written in the same way, with the date underneath as well as in a red color.
@Jenni
You had it right off! Missed the first comment you made, kudos to you.
Hey Jenni thank you, my son said the same thing, but I thought not enough mustache for an Einstein look, but I didn't want to write that down, as not to sway thought on it! I guess I was wrong! :^)
Yes Thomas, it does look that way! >B^{| Thanks! :^D

Hey Vynil, thanks for the love! :^)
I have a question on this now. Is the new physics Albert Einstein portrait by haworth '32, or by Miguel Covarrubias, like several that I saw claimed? The one that I have is signed haworth '32, but I don't see a signature on the ones that are claimed to be Miguel Covarrubias, his style is similar, but "this Einstein", is by Haworth. Just something to think about! :^)
Hi Manikin, thank you for the love! :^)
SEAN, thanks for stopping by for a look, and for the love you gave! :^)
Mary(Poire), thank you for taking a look, and bringing the love too! :^)
I actually have four of these portrait caricatures. Gloria Swanson, Greta Garbo, Will Rogers and one other actor ( who I recognize but can't put a name to the face). Assume this artist was well known in his day, but have been looking for years for information about him.
There sure seems like a verrrry strong Haworth-Covarrubias connection. Maybe my blogpost will get someone to chime in on the mysterious Haworth: https://gershwin100.wordpress.com/2024/09/23/naughty-name-gershwin-melody-34/
