      Most likely held a flower planter bowl/pot.

      Possibly a small table holder that might have had a glass top. The sideways photo does not help nor the size missing?? Hard to give info of any kind without a size to base info.

      old gas hot water heater tnnk stand??? I remember something similar next to the stove when I was a kid back in the fiftys.

      yougottahavestuff got it. I remember them well. Ours had a tall galvanized tank on it.

      I knew it had something to do with a more industrial theme.
      An oil heater stand makes alot of sense. If I keep looking in the shed I may just find that oil heater. THANKS yougottahavestuff ???? for your insight ????

      You could use it as a rustic plant stand, birdbath, sundial etc.
