Jet magazine started publishing in 1951.
This was the digest size weekly. I believe it was always published in black and white except for the colorful cover.
Very interesting articles in this edition.
Interesting to note was the weekly full page Babe of The Week. Not necessarily professional models, they were photos sent in from women across the country to showcase and highlight the beauty of Black women. Other articles were about the civil rights movement and celebrity and political figures. "The Louisville Lip", Cassius Clay better known as Muhammad Ali.
