12 inch Brass clad over copper planchet these were the typical nameplates affixed to all early General Electric Generator Motor housings .The bigger the genset , the bigger the plaque. They came in 4 , 6. and 12 inch sizes. Here are pics of these from a 9 MW Hydro - Generator located inside the Pardee Powerhouse operated by the East Bay Municipal Utility District
