I found this table in my friends grandfathers things. I was helping him sort thru all of his stuff after he passef away. Im wondering if anybody knows what kind of wood this is, what kind of table and or what era it is from. There are no nails. No joints or screws. Very soild. the top is inlay. 4 pieces joined. We think its maple. Any ideas?

Nice. It's pretty hard determining the type of wood especially from a photo. Could be walnut and the inlay on top, burled walnut. If its a newer piece, could be almost anything, hemlock, ash, elm etc. or could be maple as you think.
