This item was a gift from a friend years ago, he *had* then worked for the US Postal Service for a few yrs before moving on to a more promising (?) career. Maybe 1990's in age, it is an actual mail carrier's bag which might still even be 'standard issue' as such things go, I don't know that either.

It is made of heavy duty blue material with sturdy leather shoulder strap and hardware, the USPS 'eagle' logo on its front side under its 'flap' lid with velcro closure. Several 'pockets' within as well as a tag identifying it as a "carrier satchel" having been made by a company in Florida but without an actual date that I can identify for sure. Its leather shoulder pad is stamped "PROPERTY OF UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE A 10-92"...maybe the '92' in that is is actual year of manufacture...?
