I worked at a PIZZA HUT restaurant for a couple years back in the early 1990's (though never as a driver...always in the kitchen) and saved this bag from the dumpster one day when a boxful of brand-new ones arrived on the truck with the usual morning's shipment of supplies. It just seemed like something that might be a useful thing to keep -- in fact I still do use it every so often to this day even if not for holding pizzas, turns out it also holds (and helps keep warm, or cool) any odd *other* food item that'll fit in it, for instance things on their way to share at a family dinner or any other somesuch...? :-) :-) :-)

It is exactly what it looks like -- a bright red vinyl insulated bag big enough to hold 4 or 5 large pizza boxes, with attached nylon (?) carrying straps and a flap-cover with velcro closure. While taking the pics for this post I found a little tag I'd never noticed before that identifies it has having been made by a NC company called VINYL CREATIONS, dated MAR-1989. The PIZZA HUT logo appears on its topside, along with a "PROPERTY OF PIZZA HUT" admonition with instructions to call your local store "to arrange for return and reward". <lol>

One more semi-related bit of goofy trivia...my employment at that part time job mostly ended one day some months after I got this bag probably, apparently when a (poorly stored!) aerosol can of something tipped over (from atop the hot water heater in the back?!!) and landed upside down thusly discharging its contents mostly *directly into* the burner of said water tank...and then there was (reportedly) a BOOM and a fireball and an hourish or so later NO MORE PIZZA HUT... <eeek> I wasn't working when it happened but did drive by the (former) restaurant later that day to look at the (literally still) smoldering remains after I got the news...that sucker burned to the ground for the most part... :-(

Great story!!! I worked at Henry's Hamberger in the early 60's. Sometimes a frozen patty would fall on the floor and we would kick it around like a hockey puck then put it on the grill!! Another fun thing I now regret!!! Maybe that's why Mac Donalds took off and Henry's Puck missed the net!!! and went out of Biz!!!

THANKS SO MUCH to fortapache, Brunswick, AnnaB, Toyrebel, yougottahavestuff, & valentino97 for stopping by and sharing the loves, and especially your fun comments!! :-) :-) :-)

Val -- from my (long ago) experience working in the "food/beverage industry", I'd wager *most every one of us* actually have amusing (if not alarming?!) stories to share... ;-) :-)
