This is an old Coro brooch with plastic calla lily petals, enamel and rhinestones. I believe it is from the late 1930s. It is in the Brunialti book, American Costume Jewelry : Art & Industry, 1935-1950, vol. 1. Found at my favorite little antiques mall :) This piece measures 3 and 1/4" by 2 and 1/4".

Beautiful and in great condition for age, wonderful find!

I just assumed it was a plastic. But of course it could be celluloid. Bakelite didn't occur to me either. I have requested the Brunialti book from the library to see how it is described there.
And yes, Eileen, it is where I found the Trifari.

      Thanks for the likes

Very nice Coro Brooch plein-air-painter(Maureen), have you tried using Sharpie Colored Pens for touch-ups on enamel finish like this Brooch is? I've found that they work great, and color match can be very close, using the "Color Burst" pack of Pens, or even blended a little to match better. :^D Thank you for showing this beauty! :^)

Here's a link to a Brooch that I added the color back to it, using the Sharpie Pens:

Try it, you might like it! :^)

Hi billretirecoll, Thank you. I don't try to touch up the enamel. Just my taste. I like the fact that the piece shows some age. It is old, after all.

Eileen, I looked in the Brunialti book (finally got it from the library) and the description gives no information about what type of plastic it is, so I have no information to add on that topic.
