Here is an original U.S. Route 66 sign. This sign has very little weathering to it, and still has the original Illinois I DOT, Illinois Department of Transportation sticker on the back. There are still some stretches of Route 66 in Illinois that you can still drive on. Get your kicks on Route 66, as the saying goes.
