This is a really pretty vase. The pictures don't do it justice. When you look inside, especially with the sun shining, it is that rich dark purple blue cobalt color. It is nice both inside and out. The stripes look black inside giving it a whole other look. It is about 5 1/4 inches high and 9 inches wide.
now thats a stunning piece glass winning stripes all the way jimtim

This is a really nice example of Kralik's decor; I love the deep blue with the silver. very nice! :)
Beautiful. I love to see original Kralik, meaning when they are not attempts to duplicate others. This is stunning.
I would asign this vase to Heckert, there are other vases known having the very same décor applied onto typical Heckert shapes
Kai, would you mind looking at the decor called Kralik Silver Stripe - Twisted on kralik-glass.com? I am curious if these are some of the shapes that have Now been identified as Heckert. Thanks!
Dear Michelle,
of course I know Craig's web site. Now, since the publication of the book by Stephania Zelasko 'Fritz Heckert Kunstglas Industrie 1866-1923' nearly all previously Kralik 'Siverbanded' named vases had to be reassigned to Heckert 'Changeant', based on the designbooks drawings. Especially many shapes with triangular or quadrangular rim are known from it. Nevertheless there are also matches with known Kralik shapes, too. Even Rindskopf and Loetz made diagonally silverband striped décors. To my opinion, the debate on assigning special examples is still going on and is a challange. It would be helpful to find other Kralik pieces of vases resembling the shape of yours.
Hi Kai,
I know you are aware of Craig's site - I didn't mean to infer that you were not. I am familiar with Heckert's Changeant decor, and have looked at the shapes of some vases in that decor; I personally didn't see any with the triangular mouth, so that is why I wanted to hear your opinion on the vases shown on Craig's site. Thanks for letting me know that there are Changeant examples in this shape. I personally don't own any in this striped decor, but I have a pink vase in Glatt Silberiris that is similar in form that I have always thought to be Kralik.
