Picture is to small to see well but it looks like two set screws on the sides of it. If that is what they are I would suggest it is the top of a lightning rod.
One other possibility is the directional arrow off an old weather vane. This design was popular during the 1920's. Farmers had a weather vane on their barns but what some people don't know is the weather vane was also a lightning rod to protect the barn from catching fire. These tips alone can demand a pretty penny depending on condition and whether or not they are marked. The maker mark was normally embossed into the arrow head.
