Here is a neat savings bank originally issued in the early 1900s as a way to teach children to save money. The Bank would issue the "piggy bank" with no key which accepted coins in the top with a one way slot (you can't turn it upside down to get money out), and a small round hole on the side where a paper bill could be rolled up and inserted (again impossible to get back out). The piggy bank could then be taken back to the branch, and opened up, and the contents would be deposited into the child's account. Not a badf idea for some modern day adults! The Montreal District and City Bank was eventually turned into the Laurentian Bank of Canada, and they re-produced this Bank for their 165th anniversary.
