The GMC Tipper Truck was introduced and sold through 1972. In 1970 it was made into a Superfast model. Thus from 1968-1969. But as this has an E Style box that narrows it down to 1968. Boom! As they say.
There are two exciting features for this model. As it is a tipper the bed moves up so as to dump the load. The tailgate opens as the bed tips so perhaps that is three features. The cab also tips forward to reveal the engine. Unlike some of the other dump trucks there is no dampener to hold the cab or the bed at the proper angle. These were only 55 cents so there was a limit on features.
The tipper bed on this looks like it was made for a light load like yard waste are some such. No rocks or earth moving for this. I do have some proper mountain moving dump trucks.
Love them dumpers. I like the tilt cabover, I didn't realize the Matchboxes had these features. I just thought of them as being just detail oriented, not having so much play value also. Thanks for another sweet "Box" share.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. Matchbox would have a couple features like this for each model in the later 60s. Opening doors or hood and so on.
Thank you very much Broochman. The cabover is a nice bonus on this.
Thank you
