Benjamin Franklin Hand-Painted Nutcracker

This hand-painted nutcracker is very clearly the likeness of Benjamin Franklin. I'm not sure of the age of it, but it looks like it's been through the ringer. But then again, the paint seems fairly new and the inside of the handle seems fairly new and untouched. If anyone has any info on this type of nutcracker, please let me know. Looks like it may be a nutcracker template that could be painted to be anything. Ben stands at 12" tall.
