    Hi CW Gang ~

Okay, here is a funny story. I had this for quite a while like maybe 5 or 7 years. Always was going to TRY to figure it out, the characters.
Never did. Was helping a friend at a Trade show and I took it along to see if I could get some info on it. Well got a little info from a person that said they thought it was 200 - 300 years old ( WHAT ). So now I did not know if I should believe them but have been doing some extra digging on it now.

Yes, from several people I was told this is from the Imperial Qing Dynasty based on the 4 character Chinese mark on the bottom. I guess that era is from 1735 to 1795. Then I have now found out it appears to be a Brush washer bowl as it IS LIKE 8 inches across. It is cold to touch and heavy. I think it is a vintage yellow/Russet Jade. So still digging here ......... as I am not sure and hard to tell from photos too. Any ideas?

Moral of the story - it just sat around here since hard to understand Chinese character marks. Amazing kinda too !! Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

ADDED: The Qing dynasty (1644-1911), Reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). I was told my piece is from the Reign of the Qianlong Emperor....as I guess that is in the mark......??

Wow! That is awesome! Looks to be in such great shape for something so old. There are some Asian antique sites on Facebook that might be able to help.

Any Asian markets, a cafe etc near you where someone might be able to read the marks? That would be a cheap easy way to find out what the marks are.

The Qin variant of seal script eventually became the standard, and was adopted as the formal script for all of China during the Qin dynasty. It was still widely used for decorative engraving and seals (name chops, or signets

i was,nt angry actually, actually but you don,t have to believe me i worked my a,, of
for also with some top notch experts ( which i am not ) to assess this
i got no problems with academical discussions and we got in law suits all the time and most of the them make deal , so i might have some skill,
agree i am not a pleasant guy, but i do this for free and fun, i want to promote art , so people might love it, there is nothing more to it , the way the whole story went , makes me kind of sad actually , but well who i am to judge
