Not a terribly uncommon thing at all apparently, seems though several others very similar have already been shown here.
Made in Germany by M. HOHNER, it is No.1896, pitch A440, key Aflat. I know it is ca. early 1970's, as I still do kinda remember riding my bicycle (probably) downtown to the music store to spend some of my allowance to buy it back then -- and I've had it ever since. :-) :-) :-)
Its original box isn't in the greatest shape now, nor its 'instruction sheet' still with it. The harmonica itself could use a little gentle cleaning/polishing but remains in good condition and is a nicely made "real musical instrument", not meant to be a "toy" at all. It is about 4" long.
Nice find Tim!! I remember owning a couple of these when I was a kid in the 1970's.
THANKS SO VERY MUCH TO: Brunswick, Vynil33rpm, yougottahavestuff, Newfld, fortapache, purvis, EJW-54, jscott0363, aura, blunderbuss2, gargoylecollector, farmlady, and officialfuel for stopping by and leaving your comments & <love it>s!!
Scott, I'm actually kinda thinking I've still got at least one more old harmonica (still hiding from me) somewheres around here which would have pre-dated this one. The search goes on... ;-)
