Looks to be the projectile from a M1916 37mm Infantry gun:

Looks like it was buried in the ground for a long time after being fired. The pitting appears to have erased any identifying markings. Several countries used 37mm rounds during WW1.
A lot of countries used 37 m/m. Even tanks in WWII. This looks like earlier rifling to me. Maybe late 1800's or early 1900's.
