I got these two butterfly brooches not too long ago. The colorful one is not marked and the black one is a Weiss. The backdrop in first pic is a project Paint by diamond that I recently finished. Hope you enjoy looking.
Beautiful butterflies MrsT, love them both, also your needlepoint is lovely!
Jenni, appreciate it, thank you!
Thanks for the loves fortapache, Jscotto, vetraio and Jenni
Broochman, thanks for the great comment,
I love the butterfly brooches but you have really got my attention with the "paint by diamond" floral picture!
I had to look up "paint by diamond"and watch a YouTube video on the subject....I have somehow missed this craft!
I have a few colorful bug and butterfly brooches that rarely get taken out of the drawer so this would get them out and displayed on a beautiful background, as you have done! Great idea!
Eileen, glad you like the butterflies! Thank you!
Watchsearcher, thanks for the comment. Yes, paint by diamond is a new craft that that is gaining popularity. I broke my ankle last year and this gave me something different to do, I have completed two of them so far and have another that I have not started, one of two pandas and this one. I thought with the black brooch, it would be pretty against all those colors. This is very time consuming and you’re working with tiny beads, but very satisfying. They have lots listed on amazon.
Eileen, yes, it does look like a needlepoint. You put a bit of wax on the the end of the tool they send you and then pick up the bead and then apply to canvas. The whole picture canvas is pre-glued. It is fun to do, but does take some time.
I can relate to your misery and boredom of the broken ankle....I've been in the same boat, but with my wrist/a few surgeries to fix it....but my bright side has been finding CW to occupy me. I have lots of hobbies but haven't been up to them for a while.
Watchsearcher, yes, you can relate, using only one wrist would be difficult also. This has truly been an ordeal unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have 11 screws in my ankle now and have not gotten all my flexibility back, don’t know if I will ever get it back to the extent it was. But that is life and you learn to deal and adjust. Just glad I can walk even if it still is with a bit of a limp :)
Thanks for all the loves!
