Hello everyone!!
Among the many vintage and antique tuxedos, suits, collars, etc.. I happen to have a vintage Rotgens Superior Cutlery tuxedo knife. This is an extremely small knife with mother of pearl handle. It has one small blade as well as a glove buttoning hook. The knife measures approximately 2 1/2" long and 4 3/4" with blade and button hook fully extended. I'm not sure how old this knife is, perhaps someone out there can educate me on this, as knives are definitely not my area of expertise. I will assume early 1900's as men still wore gloves with buttons back then.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!!!

Something I would never had guessed !~
Phil,
Thanks for the comment! You're not alone, as most folks seem to think the hook is for shoe buttoning. However, this is VERY small and was intended, and used, for glove buttoning.
Lol Thomas!! I think those days of tuxedo wearers packing are pretty much over. I can't think of a single time I've ever needed a glove buttoning hook when I have on my tux:)
Thanks everyone very much for the loves, comments and for stopping by!!

Love this! I have never seen anything like it before.
Thanks vintagelamp!! I've only seen a few over the years. Since it's so tiny, I'm guessing that most were probably lost.
