I am very pleased to be able to share this unusual Loetz piece with you; it is a tube vase of two crystal clear tubes (one bent into a ‘u’ shape to create a total of three openings for flowers), wrapped with golden leaves, all on a golden base. The ends of the tubes are fire-polished, giving them a nice organic feel. It is 5-1/2” (13.9cm) tall.

Loetz called this piece a ‘Blumenhalter’, or flower holder. Its production number is PN II-7399, and the décor is listed as being ‘candia gewalzt mit Silber’, or ‘candia rolled with silver’. It dates to 1910, and was a design that was made for Max Emanuel & Co, London; this shape was also commissioned by Tschernich & Co., Haida in 1911.

(The pattern image is from Loetz/Series II, Paper Patterns for Glass from 1900 to 1914 by Jitka Lnenickova.)

Hi IronLace, thank you! I remember yours! Thanks for reminding me of it. I just went to look it up in my book, and your vase is PNII-7470 and was made for Tschernich & Co., Haida from 1911-1914. If you want an image of the paper pattern, just let me know. :)
