This is my great grandmothers rocking chair.
There is a lot of family history around this chair yet no one has any information about the chair.
Over the years a number of people have done "Repairs" to it and not very good ones in fact.
I am looking for all the information I can get on the chair, including if the springs should actually be there.
The only nails I can find are related to the springs or others attempts to tighten it up.
The family has asked me to refurbish the chair and I would like to return it to original as I can make it.
I have included a picture of a store label I think where the chair was sold.
Thank you for the time and I look forward to hearing whatever you have to offer on information.
It looks so comfy! I know you can buy replacement springs so, hopefully, you can restore it to it's original state.

You should get answers soon. Tenn. made a lot of great furniture!!
There is no one style to this chair, a bit of Regency and other styles. So many nice materials to choose from.
The biggest thing for me is the seat.
It appears to be routed around the edges for a board type of seat.
Is there any other reason for having this area routed out?
