    Water was transferred up to the tower from a cistern, and a well. The height of the tower gave the whole house water pressure.

      and if you go to a big city and go high up you can see them still use by them and putting them on the roofs of buildings to use as reserve and increase pressure on the water there as well..lol...nice post
